Strangely, there has been an increase in cocaine in the state over the last few years, whereas Nebraska has not usually been a large consumer of cocaine in the past. In particular, there has been a large uptick in incidents of prescription opioids being reported "lost in transit" by legitimate suppliers. It is unclear what the exact reason for this may be, but the increased demand for opioid painkillers indicates that these "losses" may not be innocent. While Nebraska is sparsely populated, there are still places available to help if someone is struggling with drug or alcohol addiction.
